Tarløysa is the perfect place to sit and watch the sunset.
Follow the Fv 64 road from Åndalsnes towards Molde. Turn right up to Nysetra (close to the 60-km zone) after around 26 km. Take the toll road up and park at the car park at Nysetra.
The walk starts at the information board, and you walk up to the right between the cabins at Nysetra. The walk is slightly heavy-going to start with, and it can be a bit wet underfoot through the forest. A nice path then follows a forest ridge to the right of the marshland, gently up to the cairns at Telen. Telen is a natural spot to stop and enjoy the beautiful views of Herjevatnet lake and the area around Slemmemyrane. Nysetra was cultivated in the 1990s, and was used as communal grazing land for a while. There are also other older summer pasture areas around Herjevatnet lake.
The ascent to the first summit starts from Telen, with the trail marked by cairns through the scree and boulders. Keep to the left up this terrain. After the cairn on the first summit, a nice, flat section starts. On the last part of the walk, you follow a sharp ridge up to the summit.
There is a small cabin on the top where you can shelter if the weather is poor. It is also possible to spend the night in the cabin. It sleeps four and has a paraffin stove.
There are panoramic views of the Romsdal mountains from the top, and you can see all the way out to sea and Ona lighthouse.
