Norafjellet

Great walk up to an outstanding area and viepoint. Clear path through the forest, marked path after the Orabotnen.

Google maps road directions: here

Drive the Fv 63 Trollstigen from Sogge bridge, but stop at the junction to Brønnsletta. Park in a small exit at Soggeberget or in the parking lot of Trollstigen Resort.

The trail first goes straight into the forest, then a little steep up the first section. The trail then becomes clearer through the forest up to Soggeberget where there is a great vantage point.

Continue along the clear path up to Orabotnen, where there is a book to sign. In Orabotn there are great picnic areas with views down to Åndalsnes. At the end of the marsh there is a stream that provides drinking water.

The trail then continues to the edge of the marsh, Just before the end of the forest the path heads leftwards to a slight ridge. The path then crosses this ridge to the top of the Norafjellet. At the top of the Norafjellet there are several small ponds. From Orabotnen there is also an alternate path down to the starting point which descends 100 m further into Isterdalen. This trail is somewhat steeper than the one via Soggeberget.
