Enjoy a three-course dinner at Middagsvatnet ('middag' in Norwegian = dinner) or a snooze in Middagsbu cabin. Well-marked path for all kinds of ‘cooks’.
Follow the E 136 road from Åndalsnes towards Ålesund. After 20 km, you get to Måndalen where you turn off at the sign to Venås by Voll church. After 1.5 km, you turn left just before the bridge. Follow the toll road up the Volladalen valley, past Nysetra and park at the fenced car park.
Walk to the end of the tractor road and turn left onto the marked trail. The path is mainly on flat terrain to Røsta summer pasture farm. From Røsta, the path goes up the left side of the valley and on along the river from Middagsvatnet lake. Walk up along the ridge.
Cross the river where the path gently levels out and walk onto Middagsvatnet lake, which has a beautiful location below the magnificent summits of Middagstind and Skjervan. The cabin Middagsbu, where you can spend the night, is also situated by the lake.
