Incredibly spectacular! The path from the centre of Åndalsnes to the 715-metre summit of
Nesaksla is called Romsdalstrappa. Remember to stop and take photos at Rampestreken!
Follow the signs at the roundabout in Åndalsnes towards the town centre. The starting point for the walk is to the right just after the roundabout. There is a car park here for a few cars. There is also a car park at Rauma samfunnshus and Rauma kulturhus which are a five-minute walk away.
Start at the car park under Nebba and follow the marked trail up to Nesaksla. Ramps and a handrail have been installed in the last section up Nebba to ensure most people can make it to the top. At the top of Nebba, you can enjoy views of Åndalsnes. There is a trestle-frame building slightly further up. Here, you can take a break with a roof over your head and enjoy the views up the Romsdalen valley and towards the mountains in the Isterdalen valley. You can see all the way to the Trollstigen road.
Follow the path on along the ridge. There are a lot of roots in some sections that may be slippery, so handrails have been installed. We urge people to use the handrail and to not walk further out in the terrain to prevent the path from becoming wider. There is a bench where you can take a break at Andersmyra, which is a popular work-out destination.
There is then a steep incline, so the steps are steep. You come to the viewpoint Rampestreken at the top, which is an excellent spot for taking photos.
There are more steps further up from where there are great views. At the top, you will find Ottarbu stone cabin where you can sign the visitor’s book.
